  • DIY Beading Needles for different types of string & cord

If you are ever in a situation when you don't have a needle that fits the cord you want to you, you will find this hack super helpful! It's an easy way to make your own beading needle. This is most helpful for beads with holes of 2mm or bigger -  pony bead holes are about 4mm.

To make your needles, all you need is some type of wire it can be craft wire or electrical wire. If you are any avid beader, you might also have tigertail or flexible beading wire, these can work too as long as they are a bit stiff and can be folded in half and keep the shape. Choose wire that is easily bent, but will still hold its shape. As for the thickness or gauge of the wire, make sure it will fit through your beads when doubled up.

All you need to do is cut about 6" of wire and bend it in half, creating a loop at the bend, this loop will be your eye. Then all you need to do it slip your cord between the two parts of wire into the eye. That's it!

This trick can be used for hair braids, fringe, adding beads to t-shirts - this DIY needle is adjustable to fit almost any size cord or string. Give it a try and let us know how it works for you.
